This list contains about 1,000 common Sanskrit words that a person would come across while studying and practicing yoga. Each word is shown in transliterated format, which combines diacritical marks with the English alphabet, to help the reader pronounce each word correctly. Please refer to the pronunciation guide on page 1. Sanskrit is a very powerful language, phonetically. When you pronouce the words right, you will notice the creation of certain vibrations in the physical and subtle body. These vibrations are very healing. Therfore, it is very important to pronounce Sanskrit words right.
