YogaNext will be presenting its 2017 Yoga Activist Award at the YogaNext Conference in 2017. The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward a yogin from California who brings a positive change to the world. The Yoga Activist Award will comprise of the following:

  1. Recognition among YogaNext's network of 35,000+ conscious individuals.
  2. An opportunity for the award recipient to talk about their cause at YogaNext Conferences and Moksha Festivals.
  3. Assistance from YogaNext to bring more awareness to the award recipient's cause and possibly help raise more funds for that cause.

The recipient of the Yoga Activist Award:

  1. Embraces and embodies the various aspects of yoga as a science of self-realization (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Meditation & Mantra).
  2. Engages in activities that bring about a positive change in the world using the yogic principles of non-violence, truthfulness, compassion, purity and steadfastness towards their cause.
  3. These activities may include, but are not limited to: education, raising awareness of a cause, raising funds for a social cause, organizing conscious events, and activism.

Nomination and Selection of the Yoga Activist Award Winner

We are asking you, the community, to nominate a person of your choice based on the criteria mentioned above. Please email your nomination to this email address: In the subject of the email, please mention the name of the person you are nominating. In the body of the email, please provide the following details: Person you are nominating, their contact email address, their website address, a one-paragraph description of why you are nominating them.

Nomination by the community will end on March 15th 2017. YogaNext’s advisory board and staff will then select the winner from the list of Ten top nominees(based on number of nominations). The award will be announced at the 2017 conference.
